A new Non-profit organization that will leverage INDUSTRY expertise to engage and educate the public to address hurricane related challenges.
Our mission is centered around empowering the community through education, preparation and recovery in the face of hurricanes. We are dedicated to fostering resilience, providing essential resources and promoting awareness.
education
ROSIE AND THE HURRICANE
We will seek to promote the “Rosie and the Hurricane” book, a book providing children and their caretakers with tools to navigate fear of hurricanes through knowledge and preparedness. The focus is to secure sufficient funding to print enough copies of the book for the Lee County School System grades K-2 and beyond.

BRIDGING THE GAP
As a community organization we will also focus on hurricane preparedness and will seek to connect those who are willing to assist with those who need assistance with their hurricane preparations.

Recovery is an all-hands-on-deck operation. Our organization will seek to leverage Industry expertise in assisting with recovery efforts in particular as it pertains to hurricane protection.

They reward those who have means while making safety a hard requirement to meet for those who don’t. I hope that through education and awareness this can change."Fernanda brings her family's 30 years of experience in the hurricane industry and her desire for a just and equitable world to the helm of this organization. Fernanda spent 15 years as a NASA engineer, 5 years in advocacy, and more recently co-leading her family's hurricane protection company Advanced Hurricane Technology in Ft. Myers, Florida.
